Being a massive dog lover, Crufts is always the highlight of my year. My two girls always get spoilt rotten and you get to see new and exciting products. I was honoured when Bugalugs asked me to design their stand for 2022 and again for this year.
Bugalugs is an amazing brand to work on and I’m super proud for them to be one of my clients. It’s a fantastic creative to work on, as it has a strong brand identity which stands out from others in the market. It’s bold and confident and products are of the highest standard being tested on humans not animals!
Exhibition stands are a battle of being simple and eye catching but also communicate easily all your key brand messages. The stand I designed at Crufts is selling direct to customers, breeders and groomers so needed to snapshot the brand and work as a shop front also. It was important to show key brand values, like the fact all the products are vegan, made in the uk, pH balanced, tested on humans not animals and made using lake district water.
The wonderful dog Max is key to the Bugalugs brand and always an integral part to get into the design. He is included on all dog product packaging and is what is key for customers to remember. The backwall needed to set a scene and show the different areas of products you could buy. Clear to read large headers and large packaging shots, helped set the scene beautifully.
Having the cabinets helped for extra storage in the stand but also served as counters to serve from. Clear show pricing on the products made it easier for customers walking by to see the offers without having to ask staff about pricing. The pricing at Crufts was all about explaining the extra value to the show exclusive prices.
Crufts is a super busy place with lots of stands but I think working with the amazing team at Bugalugs we made a fab stand. It stood out and got great customer engagement with them selling out of products as it was so popular. It really helped having the header boards with the logo and website, many of the exhibitors didn’t use this space and just had the plain white name and number on a white strip. It made the stand look more considered and finished, it’s the small details that make the most impact.

Another way to keep the brand in people’s mind was to hand out bags with leaflets containing details about the products on offer and samples of the core shampoo range. This is a great way to demonstrate the product and how good quality it is. Having leaflets or handing something to potential new customers to find out more is vital when you have such a captive audience in one place.
Have you got an exhibition coming up or trade show and would like some help designing a great space to communicate to your customers or buyers? Then please get in touch, I would love to talk about your brand with you and make your brand stand out from the crowd.
