A new year, and well it feels like a long one already and we are only 12 days in!
Lets talk about happier more simple things, Leatrice Eisemanm Executive Director or the Pantone Colour Institute said this years colour of the year is;
'The union of an enduring Ultimate Grey with the vibrant Yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a colour combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit'

I don't think a truer statement could be made. I think at the moment we all need resilience and hope.
This is only the second time in its 20 year history that two colours have been selected. The colour of the year sets trends and buying decisions across many different industries, from product, to fashion, to packaging and interior design.
I love colour, this yellow is wonderful. However from fellow designers some have doubted the colour choice however whatever colour is chosen it often gets for and against like most things. And people love something to moan about.

Last years colour of the year was Classic Blue. It was such a beautiful hue I used it as a basis to find my living room colour paint. Do you fancy a yellow and grey room in your house?
I do love when the colour of the year is announced and then seeing it translate into the world by fellow creatives. I will share any I see on insta so keep your eyes peeled.

Here are some of the past colours of the year, which is your favourite?
